{Romantic outdoor patio lighting is a thing we can bring from our thoughts on romance itself.|Outdoor patio lighting for romance is one of the things that we may like to reflect upon before trying to romance a loved one.} {To me romance implies being with a loved one in a private area with gentle lighting that may waver a bit so as to show special positions of light and shade on the person I am with.|Romance in this example implies being with a special person in a secluded place with some form of delicate lighting that casts shadows about us in a soothing fashion.} It should also furnish a feeling of warmth and cosiness that gently surrounds us both. We are aware of the mood we want to provide, now we need to use some planning to make it a reality. If we are dining, where must we site the lamps so that we can see what we are eating but they aren’t overly obtrusive? {If we are only sitting out having a chat, what do we need or wish to see?|Should we only be having a natter while seated on the patio, how much do we in point of fact need to be able to see?} When one gets down to it, there are a lot more things to look at carefully than we might surmise to begin with.
We are as you would expect unlikely to sit out on an exposed terrace if it is raining but what about if it is balmy but blowy? Candles would then be a dead loss as they would always be getting blown out. {Old fashioned oil lights might fit the bill for outdoor patio lighting in these circumstances.|This is one time when old fashioned oil lanterns may be the answer.} {|I have an old Tilley pressure lamp that throws out some heat as well as light but in my view it is a bit noisy to be called romantic lighting.} How about something like a simple old enclosed oil lamp like those used by our forebears? I think that would fit the bill if there was a little bit of wind.
Going to a more elementary theme, I think an oil lamp would look good on a small table close to where I am seated and torches that frequently come on the top of stakes that can be pushed in the earth. This last item means that one could even move on to the lawn if the weather permits and position seats pretty much anywhere to obtain the best view of the garden or have some privacy when needed.
Should money be a in short supply we can utilise what is often in the garage plus a little ingenuity to bring about the desired results. How about placing a candle or tea light into an old jar that has been cleaned out. One could even tie cord around the top and hang it from a convenient tree branch or fence post. As one can see our romantic outdoor patio lighting options are only limited by our imaginations.
